Bio: Dr. Apodaca is a board-certified obstetrician gynecologist, currently practicing as an OB/GYN hospitalist at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene. She attended University of New Mexico for medical school and completed her residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center - El Paso. She has been providing women's health services in the Inland Northwest since 2017.

Medical Director, Idaho State Veterans Home

Dr. Dunay is a Board-Certified Geriatrician and Family Physician, with extensive experience in Geriatric Primary Care, Geriatric Specialty Consultation, Home-Based Primary Care, Palliative Care, and Skilled Nursing Facility Medical Direction. Originally from the Appalachian Mountain region of southwest Virginia, Dr. Dunay studied Chemistry and Religion as an undergraduate at Duke University. She attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where she was a member of the Generalist Scholars Program, earning a Master of Public Health Degree, and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She attended the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho (now Full Circle Health), where she served as Chief Resident and received the Resident Teacher Award her senior year. She completed her Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the Mountain Area Health Education Center of the University of North Carolina, where she completed a research study on Geriatric Patient Health Activation and participated in the American Medical Directors Association Geriatric Futures Program. She enjoyed 6 years of service at the Boise VAMC including various leadership roles. She now serves as the Medical Director for the Idaho State Veteran’s Homes in Boise and Post Falls, and as Medical Director and staff physician of Keystone Center for Geriatrics. She is an educator with the University of Washington School of Medicine, and enjoys teaching students, residents and Geriatric Medicine fellows.

Dr. Johnson completed medical school at the University of Minnesota and went on to Internal Medicine residency and Gastroetnerology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. He has published peer reviewed articles in the areas of Crohn’s and Colitis, colorectal neoplasia, and use of non-invasive colorectal cancer screening in clinical practice. He currently serves as the medical director of Gastroenterology and endoscopy at Kootenai Clinic in Coeur d’Alene Idaho. Dr. Johnson is passionate about patient care, colorectal cancer screening, and endoscopy quality. He emphasizes educating both patients and providers on the importance of colorectal cancer screening, testing options and selecting the best test for the patient

Dr. McLandress has been a family medicine provider in the Coeur d’Alene area for over 20 years and currently serves as the medical director of Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Coeur d’Alene Residency. He received his medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine and in 2018, received the WWAMI Alumni Award for excellence in mentoring teaching, leadership, and patient care. Dr. McLandress enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, cycling, kayaking, skiing, swimming, and is passionate about the outdoors and environmental conservation.

Bio: Dr. Potratz attended the University Of Washington School Of Medicine as part of the Idaho WWAMI class, completing her first two years in Moscow, Idaho. Dr. Potratz completed an outpatient longitudinal clerkship in Sandpoint, Idaho, where she developed her love of family medicine. Dr. Potratz complete residency at Kootenai Health Family Medicine Residency and will be the programs second Rural Health Fellow.

Bio: Graduated magna cum laude from University of Washington with a degree in Neurobiology. Then attended the University of Washington School of Medicine and graduated with High Honors and was the President of Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Completed residency at Family Medicine of Southwest Washington in Vancouver, WA and was Chief Resident. Has been clinical faculty at Coeur d’Alene Family Medicine Residency since the beginning of the residency program and is now a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Washington School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine and the Associate Program Director of Clinical Operations at Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Residency. Also active in medical leadership at Kootenai Hospital with a history of four years on the Medical Executive Committee and the Credentials Committee. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband, two small children and dog exploring the outdoors, cooking, gardening, musical theater, and traveling.

Kootenai Clinic - Emergency & Hospital Medicine

Dr. Kanan Silvas currently serves as the medical director for the Kootenai Health telehealth and transfer center. Earning his medical degree through the University of Washington School of Medicine as an Idaho WWAMI, Dr. Silvas saw firsthand the need for expanded access to health care in rural areas. He is a strong proponent of telehealth services and knows what a powerful tool it is in helping serve patients outside of larger metropolitan areas. Connecting patients and physicians virtually removes barriers such as travel time and expense, thereby increasing the likelihood that patients will seek treatment sooner, which leads to better outcomes.

Dr. Silvas completed his post graduate residency training at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA and is board certified in internal medicine and emergency medicine. He works both as a hospitalist and in emergency medicine at Kootenai Health. Dr. Silvas also previously worked out of the emergency department at Clearwater Valley Health, in Orofino, Idaho. Dr. Silvas’ role as a frontline physician at both facilities gives him insight into the unique health care needs of our region. He is an advocate for expanding innovative telehealth solutions to help streamline and expand treatment options that benefit patients, physicians and the communities in which they live and work.

Jay Vary is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at University of Washington where he focuses on general medical dermatology as well as teaching medical students and residents. He works in both the main dermatology center at UW as well as one of the satellite clinics alongside family practice and OB colleagues.

Arthritis Northwest, Spokane Washington

Christopher Wright, MD, joined Arthritis Northwest PLLC in Spokane, Washington, in 2017. He has a special interest in the fields of rheumatology and autoimmune disorders, with particular expertise in osteoarthritis, lupus, gout, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Dr. Wright grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas in Austin in 2005. He then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch UTMB Health in Galveston, earning his medical degree in 2009.

After qualifying, Dr. Wright undertook his internship and then his residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas. For his fellowship in rheumatology, Dr. Wright studied at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) at Houston.

Dr. Wright is enjoying life in the Inland Northwest with his wife and three children. When he's not attending to patients, Dr. Wright likes to relax with his family and pursue his hobbies, which include hiking, music (particularly jazz), gardening, and reading science fiction and history books.
